I wanted to make a stone that can die.

Because it is not true what they say.

Diamonds are forever.
Set in stone.
Carved in stone.
Solid as rock.

Stones do eventually die.
But how they die is interesting.

They die over thousands of years. A breath of wind. A drop of rain. Each time, a very little bit of it weathers away.

Human lives are much shorter than stones.
So we can’t really witness the birth and end of most stones.
But no witness doesn’t equal no existence.

That’s why I wanted to make a stone that can die under our watch.

So this stone can die.

You can simply light it.
If you don’t? The stone will live one more day by your mercy.

That’s your choice.

I made a stone that can die.
Now,
what’s your call?

Designer

Yeonhee Go is the founder of mpsh, a Korea-based conceptual design studio. Before mpsh, she spent years as a journalist covering the consumer electronics and semiconductor. In November 2025, she left that career to build mpsh on her own.

She loves objects that have more than the surface. She intends to make every object of mpsh grounded on the principle that art is not far away.

It is this studio’s mission to let every coffee table tell its owner’s story.

The texture was more realistic than i imagined. Didn’t know the bottom plate comes along. Wrapped like a gift, and loved it!
